Friends of Dance Church,

Usually you’d be tuning in live for an hour of dance, release and joy. Tonight, instead of class, we are using our platform in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, with the protesters in the streets, and the causes we support. America was not only built upon stolen black labor, black culture, and black ideas, but continues to function on anti-blackness and the oppression of black people. BIPOC have fought to dismantle white supremacy and racism for centuries. It‘s time for the rest of us, especially white people, to join this work.

Following the lead of organizers on the ground with direct experience, we've started compiling a growing list of resources for ourselves, our organization, and for you, our audience. The information is organized around donations, taking action, and education — tangible things we can do immediately to enact individual and collective change.

We encourage you to join us. Take the time, energy, and money that would normally go toward class, and put them toward working to dismantle white supremacy and racism.
