Privacy update: How we are meeting GDPR requirements

This Friday, May 25, new data privacy laws — the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — take effect across the European Union. These laws provide consumers with more control over their personal data.

At Buffer, we are fully aligned with the spirit of the GDPR for a safe and secure Internet. We aspire to embrace privacy by design and, whenever possible, to not collect and store personally identifiable information. For the personal data we do collect, we are committed to your right to privacy and to being transparent about how and why we store your data.

Today, we’re eager to share our progress to meet the new regulation requirements. If you’d like to check back on these details another time, they’re also available in our new Policies and Procedures page.

On this page, you can find details on the following:

  • Our updated privacy policy with context on data collection.
  • Progress on cookie notifications and our cookie statement.
  • How to request deletion, modification, or access for your personal data.
  • Where to find Buffer’s Data Protection Addendum for business users.

Thank you so much for reading and for your trust in us. It’s a privilege to serve your social media management needs.

Joel and the Buffer team

P.S. If anything in our policies and procedures is unclear, don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know.
