Welcome to the A Kids Book About Newsletter!

We would love to introduce you to our catalog of books and keep you up-to-date on what we are doing as a company. We believe in improving the conversations between kids and their grown-ups. Thanks for joining us on this journey! 📚

Our story.

It all started with A Kids Book About Racism, a book written by co-founder and CEO, Jelani Memory. As a black father with a blended family (4 white kids and two brown kids), racism was an inevitable topic of conversation. He thought he’d only print one copy, but it turned out other grownups thought their kids could use an honest kids book on the topic. That one book turned into more by new authors on topics like belonging, feminism, gratitude, cancer, and so many more.

Our mission.

We make kids books that matter. There are no dragons, silly bears, or cute tales about princesses. Only the challenging, empowering, and important topics that kids experience every day. Kids' lives are complicated, and our mission is to help kids and their grownups have honest conversations about things that matter.

Our team.

We are husbands, fathers, and creatives. We’ve seen firsthand how remarkable, brilliant, and inquisitive our kids can be, especially when it comes to uncomfortable topics. We’ve built brands, made products people love, and told stories that speak to the heart. It’s our privilege to partner with so many incredible authors to help tell their stories and publish them for the world to read.

A Kids Book About is a collection of beautifully designed books that kickstart challenging, empowering, and important conversations for kids ages 5+ and their grownups.
